The Seguso Family in Brazil
In the beginning of glassblowing in Murano, the glass master’s families, had a nobility status with a secured seat by the Commune of Venice, to compensate the lack of freedom of getting out of the Island. This families, were assembled in a selected group, registered in the “Libro d’Oro of Murano“. One of the families related in the book is the Seguso Family. Since the XIII century, the Seguso Family is related with glass production.
In 1954, Mario Seguso immigrated to Brazil, where he started, in 1965 the factory Cristais Cá d’Oro. Now the factory is managed by his son Adriano Seguso and their grandsons also take part in the continuity of the family tradition of Glassblowing.
